Chickens in our backyards?
From time to time I’ve envied my friends in other Townships who can have a few chickens in their backyards. Not roosters, mind you — they’re just too loud. But in O’Hara unless you’ve got a bunch of acres and a 300 foot setback you can’t even have one chicken.
If you’re like me, and the idea of a small number of chickens appeals to you, check out the petition recently posted on Change.org. We are currently in the process of revising the zoning and nuisance ordinances, so if there’s enough interest in this perhaps we can get chickens included as well.
